I started off by hand (holding the screw from the inside with a finger and turning the spike). Eventually, I tightened the screw with one of those screwdriver tips that come with interchangeable bit screwdrivers (turning the screw from the inside and holding the spike). The screws in the front were the hardest part of this little project!

Thanks!…I’m not really sure if I’m able to comment as I have not worn these outside yet! However, walking around the house in them with no socks, there were no problems (other than the weight). The screws were screwed on very tight to make the metal part flush with the canvas, so there was no unusual rubbing.

Off the beaten path, came here a few weeks ago for a Valentines Day Party.

I think they have this party called BOBO HOUSE Sessions on the 2nd and 4th Friday every month.

The place was packed and rocking to my new favorite east side rock band Dizzy Stilettos. I also got to do a little star watching saw Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age and Jeffery Sebelia from Project Runway rocking out with is super model wife. I loved it there were friendly sexy people everywhere having a great time.

I like the jacket a lot! I wear mine very similar to the runway model – with skinny jeans/trousers and combat boots. It is one of my favorite purchases of the season.

Because it is made of goat leather, it is a pretty heavy jacket. It was also stiff when i received mine, but i suspect that that was by design; it will get softer with use and age. I appreciate that it is such a durable article of clothing. I can throw the jacket around, and not be worried that it will get marked up or ruined. In fact, similar to jeans, the jacket is meant to be worn hard and will develop a character (markings) that conforms to your body.

The classic color (dark brown/black) and slim cut definitely makes the ninja hoodie an investment piece. Enjoy yours in good health!

By the way, the jacket does run small. I normally wear a size small (chest 36), and the odyn vovk medium fits me perfectly.

There really isn’t much on the internet on Jacques Louis Gautier. All I could dig up on him is that Christie’s auction house did note that he had a student named Eucher Girardin.

There was another bronze by Gautier that was sold at Christie’s (Lot 189 of Sale 8651) – A French bronze figure of a classically draped woman, late 19th century. Cast after a model by Gautier, modelled with flower heads in her hair, leaning on a pile of stones, the naturalistic base inscribed Gautier Edit. and REDUCTION-SAUVAGE — 28¼in. (71.7cm.) high. It sold for $1100 on 1/26/2000.

You could try out the European art departments of the esteemed auction houses and ask around. Good luck.

I have a sculpture of both Mephistopheles as shown above, and Don Quixote, on the base is twice stampled GAUTIER. and I think the base is deeper on both sculptures than the one depicted. I’ve no idea what they are worth and where I would go about auctioning them, although I see that Sotheby’s has done so before.

unfortunately, no. since it was a runway piece, it was only available at the Dior Homme boutiques.

You could check out General Idea, they have a jacket for Fall/Winter 2010 that is similar in cut/style. I’m currently looking for a retailer that carries this also.

it’s a 36, and actually quite roomy. i wear 38, but liked the fit of this better.
