They have a pretty big menu, having items that lesser places fail to provide. Since it was my first time, I stuck to what I know.

Che Ba Mau. mMMMmmm. shaved ice, red beans, mung beans, green strips of jello, coconut milk.

Rice dish with crab cake, shredded pork, and grilled bbq pork.

Sandwich Express – Vietnamese Bánh mì Deliciousness

What a Find! I recently discovered a Vietnamese sandwich shop in the valley that does Bánh mì right. I love that it looks like a hole in the wall kind of joint, and family-own/run. The lady at the counter seems a bit sassy (maybe because I paid in quarters), but I suppose that’s part of the charm.

In any case, the ingredients in these sorts of sandwiches are pretty standard. What makes one standout then is the bread. This place must make the French baguettes fresh everyday, as they’re consistently crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. mMmMm.

At $3 bucks for a footlong bánh mì, where the bread doesn’t need toasting, eff Subway.

On the morning after Christmas, some of us were craving pho, so I found a spot that had pretty good online reviews.

I ate steamed rice with shrimp paste wrapped in bean curd skin.

Though I didn’t order pho, I did get a bowl of the soup broth to complement my dish, and it was very tasty. The next time I’m out there, I’ll have to get a pho dac biet xe lua (maybe).
