Kickboxing friend has been talking about the food selection at Library Bar for some time. Last night, I finally gave it a whirl.
To accompany my draft beer, I ordered the Library Burger. They had four other burgers on the menu that sounded equally appetizing, but I wanted to try their signature this first go round. Content with my choice, the bartender also mentioned that this was his favorite of the burgers.
Anyways, according to the menu, the Library Burger contains caramelized onions, sweet pickles, white cheddar, arugula, and mustard. My first impression upon seeing it was that it looked pretty small, like Umami burger small. But never mind the size, what really mattered was how it tastes. If it was as good as Umami, I wouldn’t hesitate ordering a second burger to compensate for the size. So, how was it?
In a word, okay. Though very tasty and worth a repeat visit (if I’m hungry and grabbing a beer at the bar), the burger experience wasn’t as great as I really wished it’d be. Specifically, I found the patty to be on the thin side, the bun to be a bit too hard (like it was over-toasted), and the mustard to be overwhelming. So, no second burger. Oh well.
