Friends were in town from Korea. Thought we’d catch up over a nice meal at one of my favorite restaurants, Drago Centro!
le cozze. mountain of steamed mussels flavored with garlic and chile flakes, served with toasted crostini. I really enjoyed soaking up every last drop of mussel juice with the bread. yum!
Actually, not really wanting to fuss with the menu, we all had the tasting menu, as well as our own bowls of steamed mussels inserted between the 1st and 2nd course. Thank goodness, because there was no way I wanted to share my mussels =)
So, what was exactly on the tasting menu…
We started with il carpaccio di scampi, which was basically langoustine (prawn) carpaccio, asparagus, yuzu, roe.
After the mussels, we had carbonara pasta. This was really rich and creamy!
Our fourth savory item was duck served with chestnut puree, potato, endive, and some balsamic reduction. This was very tasty.
Finally, for dessert, la torta al cioccolato – dark chocolate palette, strawberry, pears, candied pistachio
As expected, a pretty good meal.
