Vinoteque on Melrose

DH, smiling at dinner.

The other night, SH, DH, and I went to Vinoteque for dinner. SH picked the spot and made the reservations after reading some positive reviews of the place. The food was indeed delicious. However, I’m not sure if the really long wait for it to come out was worth it, but I suppose it’s designed that way to allow for conversation and wooing.

We sat outside by candlelight, which does make documenting what we ate kind of blah. Oh, well. I suppose that just gives me a reason to go back during the day and order the same thing. =P::::::

Anyways, for appetizers, we tried the Gnocchi in a port and silton sauce  and the Lamb meatballs stuffed with goat cheese, tomatoes, and mint. I really liked the gnocchi; it was cheesy smooth, yet still had texture. The meatballs were well, meatballs and not really that inspring; I don’t think I’d order that again.

For the main, we tried the braised short ribs and the black angus skirt steak. Both were amazing. Period.

For dessert, we all had the coffee and churros. I was expecting real coffee, but was given it in ice cream form. Not complaining; it still did wonders to complement the ultra sweet stuffed churros.

Overall, the experience was pretty good. I’d definitely come back again.

Tip: They have valet but street parking is available.
