Last night, some friends and I went to the LACMA – Late Night Art of Berlin 1945-2009 Show.. as part of Los Angeles Art Weekend.
It was cool. We checked out the BCAM collection, as well as the Art of Two Germanys/Cold War Cultures and Franz West: To Build a House You Start with the Roof, Work: 1972–2008 exhibitions, ate a bratwurst with sauerkraut, drank a beer, and did some arts & crafts.
We were a bit early and strolled through BCAM, 3rd floor….before the crowds started to arrive…. JS checking out artsy boobs.
BCAM, 2nd floor. Dieter Roth’s sculptures made of chocolate. The aroma filled the space. mMMmMm.
i’m just a follower….
Outside…to keep with the theme of the night…there were DJs and VJs flown in from Berlin … setting the tone for the night….
One of the highlights was the Interactive Art Making session… In the back, they had this area set up for people to make masks, using foam, different colored construction paper, glue guns, popsicle sticks, and even googly eyes…. some people took their creation and put on puppet shows that were broadcast on the side of a museum wall.
…here is mine… i restyled the hair.. made him a spiffy hat and gave him a smoking cigarette….
..leave it up to the art center girl to make something crazy… she reminds me of Yoshitomo Nara’s Little Wanderer.
family photo. JS (great pose!), the kid (one passerby commented on how she was smiling behind the mask when taking photos – hahahaha), me, Madame JL.
finally hungry…went to dine on the local cuisine….
.sticking with the theme of the night.. i got a bratwurst…served with a choice of three mustards; I picked the horseradish mustard. mMMMmmmmmm..
Later, I was asked what was my favorite part of the night. Without hesitation, I replied, the company. And honestly, it was. Fun times. =)
